Italy is magnificent, passionate, sophisticated, tasty, heady, oh my! We went there in search of inspiration, because Italy - is not a country, but a feeling, it is impossible to get enough. All the areas and towns are very different, however, they are like a skilful combination of decor on the perfect Italian outfit. Italy is always different, always shows something new. This time we looked through the prism of our business in search of the most beautiful lace and contemporary materials for lingerie, taught new forms, methods and technologies.
So, what is our Italy alike?
Italy is a country of happy people, “La dolce vita” is the art of living in pleasure. This concept is manifested in everything - in a leisurely coffee in the morning, in unimaginable architectural details, in beautiful nature, in green terraces and balconies, in smiling faces. As soon as you do step aside the trodden tourist routes, drive away from the autostrades, the real Italy begins. It is agricultural with the best in the world cherry tomatoes and aromatic arugula, it is industrial with all that goods tagged «Made in Italy», and it is very simple with all its natives who know the taste of life and enjoy it every day. Here we came to the mind, that it is all very accurately reflects to our concept. From the very beginning we intended Lace up lingerie to bring pleasure and joy in every simple day. It is not necessary to hide it in the closet and wait for some special occasion, because every day is special, and every day there is a place for a holiday. It only depends on our attitude to life, and Italians understand this perfectly.
Italy is a country of “lace” architecture. Palazzo Ducale and numerous Venetian palazzos, the Duomo Cathedral in Milan, the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the Cathedral of Santa Maria Maggiore in Bergamo are the great examples of such constructions, where lace is created from stone. These masterpieces can be inspected for hours and days trembling in Stendhal syndrome.

Italy is the birthplace of the most luxurious and elegant laces. Nowadays, it is made on factories, and there is a queue of designers from all over the world to buy it. For our intimates we also choose Italian lace, and in this trip we replenished your address book with contacts of the best Italian lace factories, textile outlets and small family vintage shops. It's hard to describe how exciting is to be "behind the screen" and watch the magical process of creating lace.
In Italy we have found a truly unique place. We visited the island of Burano, one of the first in medieval Europe lace center. There is a beautiful legend, which explains why women began to spin lace here. According to it the sea Serena tried to seduce a fisherman, who was engaged, but he denied her. Admiring his resistance, she presented him a wedding gift it was an elegant gown from the sea foam. Trying to repeat its pattern, the Venetian masters invented lace. There is more prosaic explanation - the women of the island had to constantly repair the network and fisherwomen with nimble fingers become to nimble lace. Venetian lace was precious and was sold as a gold. Its distinguishing feature is the delicacy of loops performed by the needle, rather than bobbin or hook. Burano lace absorbed the best traditions of Venetian art, famous Italian artists made lace sketches, lace patterns repeated elements of Venetian Gothic architecture. Such vintage "Venetian Gold" can now be found in the lace museum, which is located on the island, as well as in private collections. Now the island is flooded by numerous shops where under the guise of handmade lace machine lace is offered. For more credibility in some shops you can meet real lace-makers, they sit and weave patterns, but on the very island only few of them left. You can still find real handmade Venetian lace here by carefully studding the pattern of lace for its uniqueness, and having some experience and knowledge of the history of lace-making. For ourselves, we make come true in the future, the desire to create a collection with handmade lace, tatting, macrame and embroidery.

Italy is a trendsetter. Our favorite colors are the favorites for the next season: nude shades, dusty blue, pearl gray, emerald green, cool blue, and others. Lace is an undeniable trend for future seasons. Lace trim is now used not only in wedding and evening gowns, but everywhere - in lacy scarves, shawls, decorated lace shoes, outerwear, fringe pockets, collars and cuffs of blouses, etc. As for the lingerie, in some cases it is no longer the subject of intimate clothing. Satin pajamas went for a walk around the city, silk gowns decorated with “Chantilly” lace is no longer hidden under knitted cardigans, lace bodysuits coyly peeking out from under jackets, lace bustiers, tops and holter-bras became a full-fledged subject of a separate wardrobe. The main rule – not to show everything at once, to give only a hint.

Home we went back with new goals, plans, and a cloud of ideas in the head. Stay in turn!
