Hello to everyone! We are Sergey and Yana, founders of Lace up lingerie. Now, after a certain period of time, we can say that every our action moves us closer to the dream, or brings an instructive experience.
Omar Khayyam said: "It will not be as we will decide. It will be when we dare". One spring evening, we just dared to do something together. Each of us has written a list of projects that we could realize, with a certain baggage of knowledge, skills, experience and a modest budget. Ourlistswerefilledwithverydifferentprojects.
Sergey has experience in project management, he knows how to build the correct algorithm of work and to establish cooperation processes. His previous work was connected with production of clothes, including opening and managing of garment factory, as well as the supply.
And me, I have been always in love with handmade things and I have been crafting them as long as I remember myself - sewed toys, embroidered, create ornaments, invented decorations. Half of my wardrobe consists of custom tailoring things. And the very first velvet pants in multi-colored stripes the dressmaker sewed by my sketch, when I was 13 years old. Creative work for me is a meditation.
The idea of creating crafted underwear in a cozy studio was in my project list. One day in Bruges, the place, where lace was created, I visited a small family shop with Flemish handmade lace and my dream was born there. The dream of creating especial underwear from the most beautiful and weightless lace. Thanks to Sergei, he supported my idea, because I would probably have never ventured. And he just said, that we do not lose anything if we try.
Today Lace up is a young Ukrainian brand of crafted lingerie and underwear. Today we have our own workshop with the designer, constructor, technologist, sharper and several seamstresses. Our work is not automatic, as in garment factories. There is many manual work in our sets, starting from sketching, design and construction of patterns, cutting, roughing overcasting, ending with beads and natural stones decorating and concealed final sutures, which are made using an ordinary needle.
Quality and uniqueness are fundamental points to us. We are constantly searching for the ideal forms, textures and materials, working on new features and designs, improving quality..
All lingerie and underwear are made in limited edition, some pieces have only a few copies. We love the intimacy and coziness of the brand, love to cooperate with small shops of local designers and concept-stores, we like their atmosphere, the presence of a particular concept, direction and style.
